    Hi,

I have created a printer queue for our Xerox 8830 on a Windows NT 4 Server box using the AccXES drivers (9.1). My clients want to be able to use the accounting features that this driver gives them.

When I print my document from my W2K workstation - the Accounting dialog pops up on the server (instead of my pc).

Any ideas how to fix this?

    Thanks,
    Anna

    Anna,

This is expected behavior with the Xerox drivers. Since you are sharing the
print drivers off the server, the accounting dialog that is built into the
driver will come up there. This is, of course, not what you want.

If you want accounting dialog from the drivers enabled at the workstation,
you will need to install the print drivers on the local machines and then
create a port to communicate over LPR to that shared print queue. Now when
users print, they will be prompted with the billing at their local
workstation. Unfortunately, you are unable to centrally manage your drivers
at the print server with this configuration.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for this information. I really do appreciate it.

The really funny thing is that I created a queue on the Windows 2000 Server - shared it - and everything works fine from my Win2K workstations.
