what_ is_ pdk

    hai ,

    I am from SASTRA deemed university INDIA.we are having cadence tool
    with us, as I am new to cadence tool I am having some basic doubts.I
    think someone may help me to get rid of those ?

    1.what is a product design kit ?

    2.From where we can get those kit's ?

    3.I think PDK's are useful in technology specific layout preparation
    am I right ?

    1. I do not have a clue what do you mean by "product design kit".
    2. You can get the kit normally from the manufacturer (i.e. wafer fab) after
    signing NDA (NDA = non disclosure agreement) or from some "mediator" like
    MOSIS or EUROPRACTICE

    3. PDK = Process delivery kit, i.e. includes everything needed to design a
    chip - simulations, layout, verification, etc.
