    Hello,

I am only the administrator who install cadence and maintain the
system and user environment. The users are complaining to me about a
    viva error, copied below.

    \a sevSimulatorForm1->projectDir->value="/home/username"

\o assistance, contact Cadence Customer Support with the
\o diagnostic information available in the log file.

Does anyone know what is this about? I can do some testing if
required, or answer if any more info. is required.

    Thanks.

I was about to ask whether you had followed the advice of the error message -
and when I searched I see that you have - SR 42012916. I'll leave customer
support to continue following up on this.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Yes, I have the case going on. Meanwhile I wanted to find if community
also faced this earlier, and they may want to contribute something
useful here. I still don't understand though what does it mean by
Unable to establish connection with Viva..

    Thanks

ViVA (the waveform tool) is implemented as a separate process for parts of the
tool (e.g. the graph), and so it requires the main virtuoso session to be able
to communicate with it. Obviously some problem is occurring with the
communication channel - which is what the error is saying.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
