Viewing Versions.q.1

Discussion in 'Pro/Engineer & Creo Elements/Pro' started by Charlie Eccles, Dec 23, 2003.

  1. Looking for a way to view the version of .prt's & .asm's when using Windows
explorer on WinXP - The files version number doesn't show up (.prt.1 <- The
..1 isn't listed when browsing folders w/ explorer)

I'm not really familiar with XP but somewhere you should have a
drop-down from a file window (or My Computer window) that will give
you "Folder Options". Select this, look under <View> and see if "Hide
File Extensions for Known File Types" is checked ... and if it is,
uncheck it and see if that fixes the problem.

Everyone who answered so far is correct. Here is the exact way to accomplish what
    they're saying:

In the 'Tools' menu, the bottom item is Folder Options. Click this and select the
View tab. About the eighth check box is an option which lets you 'Hide extensions
of known file types'. That is what it will do when checked. Uncheck it and the
extensions (.bat, .exe, .1, .2, etc.) will show in file lists.
