Very old AutoSketch file...

    Hello,

I've got a very old AutoSketch file (1996). I know that because the
extention is ".skd" and looking at the file with a binary editor, it says
"AutoSketch drawing database" at the beginning. We do have AutoCAD 2000i and
we tried Autodesk Volo view and downloading the latest demo of AutoVue. None
of those programs recognize the file. Does anyone have an idea on how I
could convert or simply view this file?

    Thanks in advance.

Harvey (from westnet.com), thank you for responding to my request but your
return address is incorrect. Please send it to me again. Thanks.

Here's what I got... even with the file zipped. I don't think it's about
spam or virus. It simply says "No such user".

I have posted the file in question in "autodesk.autocad.customer-files"
under the Subject: "Very old AutoSketch file... Can you convert it?"

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

    OK Eric.

Looks like AS V7 opened the file ok. I will save it as an skf and send it zipped
    to you.

Most of it looks ok, there are a few details that are gemisched. It's all
exploded, so the data should be there.

Since we don't have AutoSketch anymore (we have AutoCAD 2000i), I'm looking
for a way to convert this file into DXF, DWG, or something AutoCAD would
accept if possible. Thanks again everybody, especially Harvey!

Why didn't you say so, you foolish boy!

I'll send you the file in both DXF and DWG format.

    Sheesh.
