V8 opening AutoCad 2005 drawings

    Anyone using AutoSketch V8 to open AutoCad 2005 DWG drawings. I either get a blank drawing or a processing error like it is an unknown type. I'm using WinXP. I can use VoloView.

    V8 cannot open 2005 DWGs.

    You will need to ask the .dwg author to save the file as a previous version
    ..dwg.

    I don't know any specifics re 2005, but 2004 has the option to export the
    file as a 2000 version. Fortunately this was also rectified with the
    installation of a Service Pack that then allowed a simple "Save As" instead
    of "Export".
