When one of my co-workers, who is using ACAD2002 on an XP platform, has
multiple drawings open, then closes AutoCAD, saving the drawings in
succession as the save query appears, he will receive the following error
    statement.

Unhandled access violation writing 0x820071 exception at 792c4de7h

Does anyone know why this happens and what can be done to remedy this?

    Thanks,
    Chuck

    1) With the files open and after working with them a while, run the status
command to see if physical memory is used up. If so, add memory or avoid
opening so many files. Chances of crashes increase when computer is forced
    to use more virtual mem.

    2) Audit each file to check for errors.

    3) Run "memtest86" to be sure the memory is good. While memory errors
usually cause BSODs and sudden restarts, if the bad memory happened to be in
a location of the drawing data, it could cause an access violation type
    error.

Sometimes if you have ACAD and MCAD running on the same machine they
tend to fight over memory addresses. The only way I found to fix it was
    to re-install
