When i set the quality to a maximum of a particular part then take a
look at the assembly... everything is ok/part at high quality setting.
Then i open another part from the assembly and set its quality to high
as well. But then i go back to the assembly to take a look, but the
previous part that i raised the quality of has now set itself back to
    low quality.

I'm assuming Solidworks does this to save on memory etc, but how do i
stop it?..... i need all the parts to be set to high quality for a
render. I dont think you can just raise the quality setting in the
assembly > it has to be done at part level.

You can do it on assy level......open document properties for the
assembly and increase the image quality. See to that the box "Apply to
all referenced part documents" is checked, and it would be done.

Only works for: Shaded and draft quality HLR/HLV resolution.

Does nothing for: Wireframe and high quality HLR/HLV resolution.
