The Real Deal about the release of SW2005 SP1

I've been told that the release of SP1 is hindered because of issues
with WindowsXP SP2.

Does anyone else know of this, and can tell what the specifics of this
XP SP2 issue as it relates to Solidworks is?

 

there was a second hand post to that effect in www.eng-tips.com I understand
there is a problem with xpsp2 rather than SW...seems to be a general problem
with any applying service packs...which may explain the problem I had with
04sp5...still haven't heard from my VAR about that one.
sp1 certainly has been a very long time coming. I hope sp0.1 doesn't prove
to be part of the problem...I am really of a mind to demand a free extension
of my subscription for 2 mths in lieu of having to wait this long for the
first real bug fix....must be 5mths now since 05 was launched.....getting
real sick of sp issues...<sigh>...

We have locked the XP SP2 upgrade out on our systems. If this is
really the issue I think SW should extend subscriptions until they can
deal with it.

 

I also think they should release a version that is compatible with XPsp1 and
earlier. It is rediculous for us all to wait because of the handfull that
are on XPSP2. We haven't upgraded yet and would be able to benefit from the
release of it.

I'm on SP2, everyone else here is still on SP1. SW2005 SP0.1 is handling it
fine.
