    Hi All

Does anyone know if the Autodesk 2004 products
can be run using terminal services.
I have a customer who wants to put ADT on a server
and access the product from home, site etc.
Can it be done, is anyone doing this or know
if there are problems with it.

    Thanks
    Garry

From our reseller, Adesk only allowed Terminal Server on R2002 product and
only if you had 50 or more seats. Terminal Services for 2004/2005 is
*unsupported*. You might be able to get one session running, possibly two
but no more. There were apparently a whole host of performance issues with
running Acad on Terminal Server, not to mention the miserable screen update
rates for most any graphics-intensive application.

Ya I don't think you could build a powerful enough intel super computer with a
microsoft OS to make TS a viable option for multiple users like in a big server /
thin client situation. But if your goal is to have a rendering machine or some other
crank away at something machine. Configure a killer cad system and run remote desktop
in XP on it. That way you could set your remote autocad to do what you need and then
go back to work on your system for regular production. If its that you want to make
an autodesk product availble for everyone in the company then convert it to a network
seat and install it on every machine in the company. Then everyone (one at a time) could
use it. For your customer just use XP and remote desktop.
