I'm learning using SW2003, and tried to make a drawing of the part.
However, my "New Solidworks Document"-window looks like:
    http://tinypic.com/r/rrmjbn/6

There is no icon for drawings. Is there some options that might hide the
icon or do I happen to use some kind of "light" version of SW2003...?

The reason for no drawing template icon is that there is no template
for the drawing in this specified location. Search for the drawing
template and paste it in this location (C:\Program Files\SolidWorks
\data\templates, might be different on your machine) or add the path
to the template location in Tools > Options > System Option > File
    Location
