sort layouts? how

Is it possible to sort layouts?? or change layout's index number??
Problem is, that when I insert automatically numbers into layouts'
title blocks (1.....) then numbers are inserted into layouts in queue
which layouts where created, but I need to change it.

This text above is wrong.... Layouts are already sorted by name, but
this is what I don't need. I need, that they are sorted as the user
sees them, side by side. so, should I use ObjectID to make my own
queue?
