SolidWorks Backwards Compatibility Survey

    Hey Deepak!

    Anyway, they've been kicking this idea around for years. I wonder if
    they actually plan to implement something anytime in the next decade?

    Kind of hard to do any such unless you lock the part database
    binary formats forever & neveradd much in the way of new
    features or capabilities.
    Just porting old part databases forwards to new revs can
    be problamatic at times (not speaking for SW).

    Bob,
    The "problem" is common to almost any software.
    Most of you should well know this; versions cannot
    be backwards-compatible. It's like trying to unscramble eggs
    & then hatch chicks ..
    And I don't speak for Solidworks Corporate.
    Perhaps they would like to explain for themselves?
