    Yo,

We are building an DWG/DXF reader. Looking pretty good so far. Using
the OpenDWG libraries. Anyway, right now we are taking the SHX based
fonts and stroking them with line work. We'd also like to have the
option of mapping the SHX fonts to True Type fonts of a similar shape.

Does anyone know where I could find some info about mapping items such
as Romand or Romans toa True Type font? Is there anybody who sells a
font library with fonts that match AutoCAD?

Any input would be helpful, my Google search only turns up SHX to DXF
and we already have that wipped. It's just a problem to use lines,
arcs, etc when you have lots of text. It's worth it when you have
montype in a table but otherwise it would be good to provide a nice
mapping to TT fonts for the best performance.

In a previous post Bill Wallace says...

Do a Google search for "Fontasm" which is a font converter that will
    change TTF to SHX.
