When I convert AutoCad dwg to Sketch, ver 7, the
"fonts" do not automatically convert. result is I get
hung up in the properties folder (shape files).
question #1 - is this standard procedure with version 7
    question #2 - is there a patch
question #3 - if I upgrade to Version 8, will this problem
    go away.

The problem lies with AutoDesk's incompatibility issues within ACAD &
    AutoSketch/QuickCAD.

There are obviously custom fonts/linestyles/shapes within the .dwgs' you are
receiving. It would be wise to request, from the author of the original
..dwg, the supply of the files you need to make every rosy & happy.

Failing that, you need to buy a copy of (at least) AutoCAD LT and convert
    the custom fonts/linestyles/shapes yourself.

If you do not have copies of the offending shape files use "ptmarks.shx" as
this is the default autosketch shape file.
