    Hello,

In my cell directory I have sch.cdb file which is used to open a
design in the virtuoso composer window.

I have some old design files which have a .oa extension (like sch.oa).
When I try to open these views I get an error from Cadence in the icfb
    window

"*WARNING* ddMapGetFileViewType: You are trying to run a CDB
executable on an OA library file 'sch.oa'. The file is in library
'CMOSedu_Ch20_1u' in cell 'fig20.4' in view 'schematic'. You must run
an OA executable to use that library file."

Does anyone know where I can find a OA executable

    Thanks
    GM

  2. How about converting with one of the converting tools? Unfortunately,
I think the converter tools are located in the "upstream" version 6.1
or maybe in the OA-ready 5.1 version. I went from 5.1 to 6.1 and back
again to import some spice with spiceIn which was only available in
6.1 and had to convert my cdb to oa and back again to accomplish the
task. It worked fine. (Lots of work, see other posts of mine)

Hmm. If you've got cellViews which are in OA mixed in amongst
cellViews which are in CDB (in the same library), then things are
    going to get messy.

It's odd that "old" files are in OpenAccess, since that's the _new_
    database format...

So you really need to check the provenance of this data, I guess!

    Andrew.
