rotate

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by John Callaway, Mar 18, 2010.

  1. In R14 I would like to rotate a line so I can snap the opposite end of
the base point to a fixed point. To get it close I have been rotating
by angle. There must be an easier way. Any suggestions?

    R14!?!

Still, it was a great piece of software. I think that even back then,
    you could rotate by reference.

    LINE Specify first point:
Specify next point or [Undo]: [Click start point on line]
Specify next point or [Undo]: [Click end point on line]

    ROTATE

Select objects: [Select line, enter] 1 found

Specify base point: [Click start point on line]
    Specify rotation angle or [Copy/Reference] <0>: r
Specify the reference angle <0>: [Click start point on line]
Specify second point: [Click end point on line]
Specify the new angle or [Points] <0>: [Click target.]

You should also have the ALIGN command - although maybe that was later
