Rectangle around Single Line Text

    I'm trying to write a lisp that draws a rectangle around an entity, which is single line text. The txt could be any size of any width factor with any number of characters within it. I've tried textbox but I'm getting a "bad DXF group" error. Can someone shed some light on this please, I've been at it all morning just to get the width straigtened away.

    Why reinvent the wheel??
    Have you looked at the Express Tools (Enclose text with object)??

    or for that matter, if you have 2005, how about a table with just one entry?

    i have a block made just for that.

    Not everyone will have the express tools installed on their machine

    why *is* that?

    that's like driving a car with one of the wheels still in a box in the
