    Hi there,

We are planning upgrade from DFII4.46 to the latest 5.xx, can anyone
give me an idea what exact equivlent feature names of our existing 4.46
    are in 5.xx?

Right now we have licenses for:
    300 Virtuoso Layout Editor
    3000 Virtuoso-Xl Layout Editor
    34500 Virtuoso Schematic Composer
32140 Cadence Anolog Mixed-Signal Simulation Interface Option
    33301 Cadence Analog Mixed-Signal Back-Annotation Interface Option
    940 Virtuoso EDIF 200 Reader
    945 Virtuoso EDIF 200 Writer
    SkillDev
    PlotVersa
    Virtuoso_Schem_Option

    Thanks

    David

  2. You would be best to ask your sales account manager about that. However, the
product numbers are the same. Some of these (32140, 33301) are for
backwards compatibility - they're bundled in other tools (34510 - Analog
Design Environment - which strangely you didn't list. 32140 and 33301 are,
and always have been, useless without 34510).

    SKILLDev
Of the three above with no numbers yet, the wonderful SKILL Development
Environment is (and always was) product #900 AFAIK. SKILLdev gives you
access to a complete SKILL inventory & web-based analysis (i.e., SKILL
Surveyor) and, SKILL Lint, SKILL tracing, profiling, debugging,
    finding, etc.

I haven't kept up on plotting over the years. I remember, in Edge days,
Versatec Color Plot was product 978 which was replaced by 991 (Opus
Hardcopy Versatec Intermediate File Generation) plus a single copy of
992 (Opus 9302 Hardcopy Versatec batch VGS software for the server) in
the early 1990s. However, after having said that, I think in around the
9504 time frame, plotting was bundled into any application that needed
it (e.g., Virtuoso Composer Schematic Capture), which would indicate
there would be no part number today.

Likewise, my memory is fuzzy with Virtuoso Composer Schematics. In the
olden days (late 1980s Edge), I think it was product #203 Edge CAE
Schematics Color (CAE was schematics as opposed to CAD which was
layout) - which then morphed in the early 1990s into a series of
products such as 111 (Framework), 200 (Composer), 206 (simenv without
waveform data description), and 207 (batch environment with wdd) -
which then (I think) were bundled into 21000 (Composer Design Entry) -
which became (at some point) the current Virtuoso Composer Schematic
    Capture environment & tool suite.

    Hope this helps.
Everything above is from memory so don't quote me.
As Andrew suggested, your sales team should have all the answers
    though.
