Can I do that somehow? Dview command feels a little awkward. Thanks.

Right click menu while in 3d orbit has options for adjust distance, swivel
    camera, zoom... Pretty useful ensemble.

Since we are on the subject of the 3D Orbit command, any suggestions
about items that disapear when I activate the command?

I already do a "select all" before starting the orbit command, and
that helps some of the time. But, occasionally there are objects that
just disapear as soon as I activate the command, even if they are
selected. Since I commonly use this command to check for
interferences, the idea that things might randomly disapear is
    certainly a problem.

I'm sorry, I wasn't very clear when asking my question.. I don't know
what's the exact name for this effect, it's the difference between
parallel and perspective view.. If I understand right, the strength of
this effect depends on curvature of the lens used to make the photo..
I think I was getting stronger perspective effect with dview command.
In 3d orbit, even if I set view to perspective, there's almost no
    change.

I searched google and I found a reference to changing 'camera's focal
length'. From the context, I thought that's what it refers to.

I already do a "select all" before starting the orbit command, and

    Select none.
Faster computer. Better video card. I'm suspecting that the display can't
keep up with the spinning and is simplifiying. There may be settings for
    this, don't know. "degredation"

Right click menu while in 3d orbit has options for adjust distance,
    swivel
And yet I answered it. Did you try the things I mentioned? Really play
around with them to get a feel for how they work?

    Zoom.

While in 3d orbit, right click, then click on "more", than adjust distance.
Also, if you open the 3d orbit toolbar there is an icon for distance and a
few other handy 3d commands. I keep it open and docked.

You did answer it, but 'it' was not what I'm trying to do :). I
played with these commands, but I need something different. I need the
distance to the object, and it's position in the viewport to be the
same.. but the amount of let's call it "perspective distortion" to
change. If I zoom in or adjust distance it does change but not
strongly enough and if I zoom in more I lose part of the object.

    Thanks,

Actually this problem is quite unrelated to the complexity of the
drawing. A complex drawing might render fine, but a very simple one
have problems. Blocks seem to be the most like to not display if not
selected first. But, blocks work fine much of the time. Still, every
once in a while, even a selected block won't display.

I'm sure it is related to the Open GL rendering, but I can I buy a
different video card and really know for sure that it won't
    occasionally hide objects from me?
