Pole-Zero Analysis

  1. Hello Andrew and all others,

    I'm trying to find some more information of how the Cadence Pole-Zero
    Analysis of the circuit is performed. I've looked in the Cadence
    documentation (anasimhelp, spetreref, spectreuser...), but it is mostly
    explained how to set-up the analysis. I would appreciate any additional
    information or reference on this topic.

    Side question: It is said in the manual that the circuit is linearized
    around the operating point, is there any way to access this linearized point
    with the results browser, or with something else?

  2. The easiest way of accessing the linearised point is to do a DC analysis - and
    save the operating point. You can then backannotate the operating point onto the
    schematic.

    I'm not that sure what else you want to know about pz analysis.

    Thanks for the hint, I forgot that the DC OP can be used for this purpose.

    I was looking for more detailed info of how the poles and zeros are actually
    calculated inside Cadence (if such info is available) -> let say, a circuit
    matrix [X] is created (with some method), and some parameters are extracted
    form [X] (based on some other method), etc. until we calculate all poles and
    zeros.

    Is there a way to save the "pz" results in a file using ocean? "pzSummary"
    command only prints them in the icfb window, there is no option to specify
    the output file like in "ocnPrint" (I'm usign IC5141, if the Cadence version
    is important).
