I have plotted 5 drawings (Acad 14) to file via the normal plot command. I have no problem finding the file but have trouble plotting it as a drawing - all I get is the printed (text) version.

    Your help is appreciated.

    To be more complete,
1st plot to file the problem drawings to a PLT file
2nd use Goplot to submit it to the printer.
If this is no succes, then the problem is in the drawing or the ACAD driver.
If this works, the problem is in the Windows Driver or on the plotter itself.

Witch printer are we talking about ?

    Hi Patrick

"goplot" as an acad command does not work for me (Acad 14)

I have an HP laserjet 1200 series

no, Goplot is a FREE windows program, you have to download from Govert's web site: http://www.output.tmfweb.nl/GoPlot.html
In AutoCAD you have to plot-to-file, and you have to look carefull where you place the *.plt file. (make a folder c:\plotfiles or so)

I see the LaserJet 1200 is capable of understanding PCL5e and PCL6, so it also is capable of understanding HPGL/2.
You can try to configure it in AutoCAD: Tools -> Preferences Printers New: choose HPGL/2 and then the LaserJet III for a start. Use the same port, if there is a worning that there is aready a printer on that port, than that is OK, just click it away
