PLOTTER SETUP

    HI,
    i was wondering how do u guys have the plotters set up??

    do u have a computer print server? or do u use print server device??

    if u use print server device, can u recommend a good print server?

    Best way to do it is to have a computer that acts as the print server. Give this the same version of Windows as all the other clients: Win2000 server if you are on Win2000Pro, Win2003 server if you are on WinXP.
    If the printer is not near this server, we use a JetDirect or an Intel Print box. But then, only the print server has a connection (a port) with this print box.

    Configure every plotter on it, test it on the server, set the properties and the document defaults perfect before sharing the printer.

    Then on each client do a Start-> Run \\servername.
    Select the shared printer and do a right click: connect... The driver and all settings are copied over to the client.
