"pathSwitchLayer" in LayoutXL IC613

I noticed that this feature (Controls whether the entry layer remains
the same as it was prior to starting the Create – Path command or
switches to the layer clicked at the first path point) does not seem
to work in IC613, but I could do it in IC5141. Is there a different
way of enabling this feature in IC613? I don't recall doing anything
specific in IC5141, I added the following to my .cdsenv but get an
error:

layoutXL pathSwitchLayer boolean t

loading vars from ./.cdsenv for tool layoutXL
*WARNING* envSetVal: Can't set the value of variable
'pathSwitchLayer',
in tool[.partition] 'layoutXL' - it has not been registered.

 

Options|Editor, Auto Tap pane, you have controls there for what you want.

And BTW, look also at Create Wire -- which will create pathseg in routes --
and Create Geometric Wire -- which will create pathseg outside routes and
path -- as replacements for Create Path. If that don't suit you, I'm
interested by the reasons.

Thanks for pointing this out, I didn't have "Shape" selected.

I'll give these a shot, I just use Path out of habit.
