After copying my Outlook MSG files to another computer, I noticed that many of them cannot be opened properly because Outlook is not available on that system. I need access to these emails for reference and documentation purposes. Converting them to EML seems like the best option since EML is supported by many email applications. I am looking for a method that can convert all MSG files accurately while retaining attachments, sender information, and message formatting.

When MSG files suddenly stop opening after moving them to another system, it’s usually because Outlook isn’t available there. The MSG format relies on Outlook; hence, its absence would render the messages faulty or illegible, despite the existence of content within the files.

Conversion from MSG to EML proves to be the effective solution, seeing that EML works well with multiple email clients and is easy to access without using Outlook. Once converted, you can access emails normally with attachments and sender details intact. For multiple files, using a simple batch converter is more realistic than trying manual methods. TrustVare MSG to EML Converter is one option people use for handling this kind of migration.

    Common mistakes people make:
    • Assuming MSG files will open on any system
    • Copying files without checking software support
    • Trying to open everything manually instead of converting
    • Not keeping original backup before starting the process
