I am new to the discussion group but not to AS; However, I cannot figure out how to move or copy to a specific keyboard entered location; eg. if I want to move an entity from a specific coordinates location to another specific coordinates location, how do I do that? I can move it using the mouse, of course, but I cannot figure out how to do it with the keyboard.

    Two examples:
You have a rectangle you want to move 2 inchs right and 2 inches up.
    Select the rectangle
Right click on the about point; select move about point and snap to
a reference point IE lower left corner
Left click on about point and "break loose" the rectangle.
Holding down the mouse button, type R; enter X and Y coord's click
    Enter

You have 2 rectangles and you want to move the lower left corner of
Rectangle A 2in up and right of the upper right corner of rectangle B.
    Select rectangle A
Edit>Transform>Translate; click on lower left corner of rectangle A
Type W; click on upper right corner of rectangle B
    Type R; enter X and Y coord's click Enter

Thanks so much, Rod. I have been dealing with that problem for so long, it's such a relief to finally know how to do it.
This group is a great resource!

Variation on my question (or your answer): Is it possible to input the coordinates of the destination of the rectange instead of the coordinates relative to the former location? eg: Is it possible to move the about point to a point that is, say, 1" above and 2" to the right of the drawing origin instead of 1" above and 2" to the right of the about point's former location? If so, how do I do it?

This sounds like a job for ... SUPER DOUBLE_YOU!

There's a feature called The Working Point. You can check Help for it, or try this

Draw a rectangle and Unselect. Select the Rectangle icon again.

Type W (watch the Status bar)

Click on an Endpoint in the existing rectangle and type R

Enter the coordinates AWAY FROM THE ENDPOINT that you wish to start the next
rectangle. PRESS ENTER! Close the dialog box and finish drawing the second
    rectangle.

What you've done is draw a second object in a definite position relative to an
    existing object.

No grid is necessary. Ever, as long as you can master the Working Point along with
    the Relative Coordinate dialog box.

Oh wait a sec, it looks like Rod told you about that.

Look again in the Relative Coordinates dialog box. You'll see an "A" icon for
absolute coordinates. Click that and input any location you wish on the diagram.

You shouldn't need to diddle with the about point here. You *could* but it doesn't
    seem necessary.

Thanks again, that was so simple, I feel stupid; I should have noticed the option of choosing absolute or relative coordinates.
