Monte-Carlo simulations

Discussion in 'Cadence' started by Jan Mikkelsen, Jun 9, 2004.

  1. Hi

Probably a really simple (and stupid question) to most of you .. but I
cannot seem to get even the simplest of Monte-Carlo simulations to run.
To boil problems down I have settled for a simple resistive divider and
I then intent to run a Monte-Carlo simulation on this. I can get i to
run alright but it stops with a 'nothing specified in statistical block'
remark .. where do I find this "block" ??

  2. In order to run monte carlo analysis, you need to have information describing
the statistical distribution of various parameters. This is done via a
"statistics" block. Without this, it would have no idea of what to vary and how
    to vary it.

See "spectre -h montecarlo" for more details.
