Match Technology v.4.3 by Vladislav Chizhick

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by JamieLandmark, Nov 11, 2004.

  1. Hello,

I've tried to get Match Technology v. 4.3 working on my computer using the Readme.txt file that came with the shareware. I found the shareware on:

    http://www.cadopolis.com/shareware_...&TheSubcategory=SubFontsandHatch&TheKeywords=

It doesn't seem to work with AutoCAD 2005.

Has anybody heard of a newer version of this program or another program/routines that will do the same things?

    Thanks,

    Jamie

P.S. Following is the description of the software I found on the web site:

Match Attribute, Match Text, Match Block, Match Rotation, Match Scale, etc like Match Properties ('_matchprop). All real-time execute. Previous - Match Attribute Properties - added Previous and Next. - Match Text String Properties - added Redefine. Current - It is adapted under AutoCAD 2000i(2). - Match Text String Properties - Global and Redefine - redraws in all layouts now.

  2. I am inserting a series of tiff images of standard details. I get the
    message:

"The file you have chosen cannot be used as an image name"

I understand there can be various reasons for this (existing names,
    unusable characters, length...).

But what are the precise naming rules?

    The original file name is:

    DE-ESC-3.1.2.1.001.tif

I now try to make it DE1211. It won't let me. I go with its ultimate
    suggestion of DE-ESC-3.
If I reopen the image manager, I can rename it to DE1211 like I wanted to in
    the first place.

I did post this in 2004 group...and got no answers. I figured there may be
more knowledge of internal acad naming rules here.

  3. Hey Terry,

Interesting place to post a question.

I looked up naming images in AutoCAD's help menu and found:

    ________________________________

    To change an image name

From the Insert menu, choose Image Manager.
In the Image Manager, select the image name.
Select the image name again, and then modify the name.
    Choose OK.
Note You can also change the image name by pressing F2 after the current image name is selected. Then you can edit the name.
    ______________________________

Don't know if this helps. But hopefully it will.

BTW, if anyone wants to respond to my initial post, that would be great.

  4. Oops, sorry....need to fix how I posted this.

Yes, I am aware of how to rename images. I just don't understand why I
can't insert it as the desired name in the first place...especially if I CAN
rename it to that name after the fact.

  5. Hey Terry,

    Boy, that's a tough one.

I've looked all around, and tried a few scenarios, to no avail.

As best I can figure out, it's a two step process. If you try to rename the image when inserting it, AutoCAD doesn't know which image to insert. I would think you'd have to create a special dialog box that could rename the specified image when inserting it. Maybe there's an add-on out there?

P.S. Still no comments to my original post :)
