    Hi

A short introduction : I am a certified .Net develloper (VB, ASP, ADO) and
have made more then a few 3D drawings (solids) in acad.

Now I wish to write a VB.NET program that creates serveral DWG files and
    excel lists, based on parameters.

Is it possible to do this entirely in VB.Net (using acad dll's and stuff)
but without starting Autocad and running a .Net program ?

If yes, where can I find some starterscode ?

    Thanks a lot for a reaction !

  2. No its not possible to do it without AutoCAD unless you purchase/license
the OEM version of DBX but I'm not sure you would have all the
functionality you'd need to create a 3D model.

Depending upon what your solution entails, you could create/edit a dxf file
without AutoCAD. You may also want to consider using Inventor since it
already incorporates parameters - I wouldn't use vanilla AutoCAD to create
    3D models!
