Linking different fabs design kits

    Hello experts,

Is it conceptually possible to have one general design kit that can be
switched to one specific fab design kit after design?

I mean, can we have schematic on that general PDK that could be ported
    to selected fab (as porting)?

All fabs are at the same node.

On the other hand, what's required to have systematic way to install
selected PDK for different fabs if I have multiple PDKs? (Installation
only not design). Can that be done while tool's running (not shell rc
    file switch).

    Thanks and best-

Potentially this could be done, but it's far from trivial as design kits often
have very different ways of doing things, and have very different devices.

You could create a mapping PDK - you have some generic devices, under which is a
schematic which maps to the actual PDK. You'd have one of these per foundry PDK,
and you pick which library to use.

Provided that the PDKs don't set things that compete with each other, you can
use more than one at once - but usually they may try to set similar settings, so
    it may be a challenge.

Very hard to give a generic answer - the devil is in the details of which design
kits you're using and how similar or dissimilar they are.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
