Layout redraw / Visualization performance for Cadence / Linux

Discussion in 'Cadence' started by Alfredo Quartini, Apr 19, 2005.

  1. Hi,

I have Cadence 5.0.xx installations running on Linux PC (RedHat 7.x /
Fedora 2,3) with Matrox G400 and Intel 865 graphic adapter. Well, users
using layout and layoutPlus are experiencing poor performances for
layout redrawing and, mouse pointer moves. I mean, when the user is
moving the mouse over a layout cellview, the mouse cursor moves as
usual, but the little yellow square that snaps on layout grid follows
with some really annoying delay. Or, in another case, drawing boxes to
zomm-in zoom-out gives some random zooming area.... Is there any Cadence
specific setting that I can use to prevent this issue? Is it a problem
that I can try to fix working on X server setup or OS setup ?

Thanks in advance for any help.
