KIP plotter and Plan & Profile sheets

I have a issue that our vendor's tech support hasn't been able to resolve yet so I thought I'd give it a try.
We are running on Windows 2000 and XP platforms. We are using AutoDesk Land Desktop 3 & Land Enabled AutoDesk Map for our drawing software.
Our problem is with our Plan and Profile sheets. These sheets typically have a shaded grid spaced at 0.1" intervals along the bottom 1/2 of the sheet. For the last 6 months or so, we have been losing the vertical components of our grid when we send plot files (.plt) through our Windows Request software. For a time we were able to remedy this by sending the plots directly to the KIP. But since upgrading to the most current drivers for our particular KIP, some of the users have gotten all of the grid in the past have lost the vertical grid when plotting directly. Also some of our users that plotted directly and did not get the vertical grid are now getting all of it. Most of the time we have been successful sending plots directly to the KIP. It's been rather frustrating for us. As a side note when we send the plot files to our vendor to plot, they get the entire grid. I would really like to get this resolved as it has become a bit of a thorn in my side.

Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated, I assure you.

What colors or pen width are you using and what is it's percent of shading? There is also a setting in kip request under configuration where you can set darkness (Medium dark Medium light, medium) are some of the settings. We'v e had problems in the past with our Kip and the service tech had to come out and clean and do some maintance work with the toner. Hope I helped..............

What version of Windows Request and Unattend are you using? Do you
"Force Pens" using Request and Unattend or "Use Colors"?

I think I've resolved the problem. In the Windows Request dialog box, I click on the "Modify Pens" button, click on the "Advaced Options" button and click the "Turn Merge On" check box. I then saved the settings as "default1" for now.
I've tested it with 4 other users and they all get the full grid with plot files. Now, as luck would have it, a couple of other users, who haven't made these changes to the print request software cannot get the full P & P grid when sending directly to the KIP plotter - go figure!
