I have an assembly of a lattice work structure. The structure will
eventually be built using a single mold. The problem that I have is joining
all of the components into a single piece. Currently they are assembled
into a Solidworks assembly file. Is it possible to take all of the
components and combine them into a single part? If it is possible, how do
    would I do that?

  2. It depends on your desired outcome. The simplest way is to just save it as
a SW part file. You get a multi-body part, or surfaces - your choice. Or,
if you want to end up with a dumb single part, join them all, export as a
parasolid, open the parasolid, save as SW part. I can send you an article I
    wrote on that procedure.

  3. Use the Join command. If you want to join all of the parts into one of the
parts that already exists, then edit the part in the assembly (RMB on the
part in the graphics window or the feature tree, then pick "Edit Part").
Then Insert/Feature/Join and pick all the parts you want to joint to the
    first.

I often make a new part which is all of the other parts joined. Same
function, but you have to make the new part first. Insert/Component/New
Part, name it, pick a plane for the sketch you don't need, exit out of the
    sketch, then Insert/Feature/Join.

  4. Out of curiosity is this feature associative. So if you join the parts in
the assembly will the joined model update to assembly changes?

  5. If you join the parts and don't break the relationship, the "joined" part is
still connected. Update the assy and the joined part follows. It's one way
to take a simple wlmt into COSMOSXpress.
