    Job Description



    Our client is pioneering the application of robust high-speed
    asynchronous circuits to high-performance switch-based systems. A
    foundation of this effort is a unique CAD (EDA) flow that integrates
    innovative in-house and commercially-standard tools to support design
    with mixed asynchronous and synchronous circuitry.



    The Senior IC Design CAD Engineer will be responsible for innovating,
    developing, and maintaining this unique design flow. The tools of
    interest will cover physical synthesis, floorplanning, placement,
    routing , LVS, DRC, parasitic extraction, electromigration, as well as
    analog verification and characterization, largely within the Cadence
    environment.



    Specific tasks include:

    Assist in evaluating new commercial tools that can improve the flow
    Write and maintain software in various languages to semi-automate the
    flow
    Write and maintain new integration scripts to integrate both
    commercial and in-house tools
    Assist in the development and specification of verification test
    suites for existing and new CAD tools and their related flows
    Minimum Qualifications/Education



    B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer
    Engineering required
    Professional Skills



    Must possess 5 years experience in support of EDA tools in a
    production design environment
    Must have experience in Perl (3+ years) and in the development of
    scripts in Unix-based operation systems
    Must have a strong fundamental background in deep-submicron VLSI
    design
    Must have strong engineering discipline
    Must have experience in both full and semi-custom physical design CAD
    flows (3+ years)
    Must have experience in an object-oriented language such as Java or
    C++
    Must possess superior communication skills, strong interpersonal
    skills and a passion for success
