Install Stand-alone over a network?

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Timothy A Green, Jan 8, 2004.

  1. I have not seen this exact question in searching the newsgroup so here it
    is.

Can our 8 stand-alone versions of ADT2004 be installed and customized in one
location and then deployed to the other locations?
I know this is what a network license version is for, but the powers that be
    wanted stand-alone versions.
Also, can the Network Installation Wizard be used to install stand-alone
versions to stations on the network?

  2. Yes, it can. You'll have some weird SN issues (1 SN on all seats,) but you
    can definitely do it.

  3. Thanks.

Do I have to setup the network style paths during the deployment setup
    stage?

    Tim,

I have set this up for a deployment of straight AutoCAD 2004 using group policy... all when well and I was even able to customise the search paths and profiles etc... but as James pointed out above you'll have troubles with the serial numbers all being the same =( which in turn leads to authorisation troubles, as yet I have not found a solution to this either =(.

If anyone can help me on this it would be great =)

    Regards
