Information regarding old AutoLisp manuals

    Hi everybody,

In the last weeks I've been studying AutoLisp and, being a Lisper that
worked with many Lisp dialects, I'm somewhat surprised by AutoLisp
semantics. I discussed some of the problems with XLISP's author but
we still lack a lot of information. After studying XLISP's
predecessor---MacLisp---I clarified a few issues but the picture is
    still very fuzzy.

Is there any historical description of the AutoLisp evolution? I'm
particularly interested in understanding the evolution from XLISP to
AutoLisp, namely, which version of XLISP was used and what further
    developments were done.

To be even more specific, I would love to see any _old_ documentation
regarding the 'apply' function. Was it present in the first AutoLisp
versions? What was its semantics? Related to this, when was the
'function' form introduced? Is there anyone with a manual for AutoCad
2.1 (I think this was the version that included AutoLisp) that can
check if it discusses the 'apply' function?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards,

    António Leitão.

I can not help specific, --- but with the first AutoLisp I used
AutoCAD ver.2.6 evaluator ,whenever you needed a more advanced
function ,then you defined it yourself. Apply isn't that serious to
define right, mapcar either , ---- most of the better textbooks
    described just that issue .
