hp 1050c and pensetting

    our company just got a new plotter from hp650c to hp 1050c. i noticed using the same pen setting, it comes out much darker. so i tried to lighten up the pensetting but my lightest color won't get any lighter. is there a reason? does anyone know the thinnest pensetting possible on the plotter? keep in mind that i only want to adjust the color from line weight, not by custom color nor screening...(i've even tried to make the lineweight at .0005" and it still doesn't work) any suggestion would help. thanks~
