wouldn't that use a lot of ink?
use the PrtScn button and then paste into pdf? or paste first into a paint
program, save as jpeg and then insert into pdf.
    garth.

this print Screen function gives a very low resolution image.. is there a
way to plot to PDF directly from Autocad with the Black Background.. I dont
intend to print it with the black background.. its simply for on-screen
display for another perosn that doesnt have AutoCad on thier computer.. but
    does have Adobe Acrobat.

Make an image of black in your favourite image program. Insert that (do not
paste OLE object. ewwww.). Scale it to be the size you need. Use cut/paste
(not erase) to delete and put back everything in the drawing - this ensures
that it is "in front" of the image. (I have had zero luck with move to
    front/back being reliable.) Plot.

While I haven't tested it with all black, I do it with colored elevations
    all the time.

Probably not. pdf documents default white, can't be changed. I think even
if you did find an option to do it in acad, it would still be white in
    Adobe.

  8. This doesn't help the OP, but when I first installed Adobe Acrobat and
used it with AutoCAD LT 2000 a few years ago, my PDF files were white
lines on black backgrounds. I don't remember how I fixed it, but it
was driving me nuts. Then when I had to reinstall Windows 2 years ago
    it happened again.

My point is, some software does change the default white background in
    a PDF file.

I do this sometimes with presentation drawings. I have the ability to
utilize photoshop. I plot to a PDF, bring it into PS make thru the color
display area, I change the hue of my objects to white, make a new layer for
the background that is black bring my lines layer on top and presto I have a
white drawing on black or blue or red or ????? I can then save it to a PDF
or JPG or EPS or several other graphics files. This whole process takes me
about 5 min. on a slow day.

The only other way I can think of doing it would be to solid hatch a sheet,
bring your objects on top and map the pen to a white color/pen. Do this in
Model Space - it can sometimes get "wierd" in Paperspace. I have also done
this on a smaller scale with logos on titleblocks.

    Good Luck...
