    Hi,

We would like to make transmission lines and inductors by ourselves.
However, we have no idea how to extract the models and simulate them in
Cadence. Is there any tutorial or manuals that we can look at? What tools
    are needed?

    Thank you very much!

I'm not sure how Cadence to do this job. But in our groups, people use
HFSS to set up model and build up
inductors. Then create a file (such as S-parameter) relating to a
    symbol for simulation in Cadence.

Cadence have a tool called VPCD for doing this. It's an inductor/tline
    synthesis and extraction tool.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Then which one is the most popular one and which one has the best quality? I
haven't heard anybody using VPCD yet. I know some people use Sonnet, HFSS,
or ADS to do this kind of job.
