Got NT 4 clients, got 2003 print queue server, got HP DesignJet 750, LaserJet 4050 & 5000
Want to install NT4 drivers on 2003 print queue server as additional drivers for NT clients.
Windows 2003 will not allow me to install the drivers. I do not want to install the drivers locally on the NT clients.
How can I get this to work?

Are you receiving an error message or is the install simply not working?

install the drivers locally on the NT clients.

Because a NT4 workstation cannot use 2003 printer drivers.

Sorry. I'd suggest the Microsoft KB or newsgroups, but I'm sure that you've
    been there too.

    Good luck.

I would also suggest Google search of Groups "2003 nt print drivers". Many
posting appeared. It's apparently a problem for others.

He ment extra drivers. It's normal you do that on servers....

So clients get their drivers from the server.

And yes, we do install extra drivers for Win95/98 on a NT/2000 server.

I'll write what i did, perhaps it is of help to you:
    Sitation:
    Windows NT4 Print/plot server,
Windows NT4 clients, Win2000 clients and Win XP clients:
My problem was: how to install the additional XP drivers on a NT machine.

    Solution:
    1) install pacth on NT4: MicroSoft Knowledgebase Q320914
There are patches for NT, Win2000 and XP.
    2) Went to the XP client
    start run-> fill in \\Servername
you see an explorer with all the shared printers and folders and and item called "Printers and Faxes", open it
    3) then you see a window with all the exisiting printers on the server. Select the one you need, right mousclick properties.
    4) Go to the tab "shareing" and press the button "additional drivers..."
    5) Select the inf file of the driver you want to add.

So this worked for me, i hope it helps you also...
