How to change drawing properties?

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Jairo Salgado C., Feb 6, 2005.

  1. Hi, I will like to know if there is any way to change the created date shown
in the Drawing properties command at the statistics tab. Maybe a LISP or
    VBA, I've been looking
throughout the web, but haven't found anything. I've found to extract, erase
the title, author, comments etc... But to change the created and last
    updated, nil...

    Thankyou very much in advance...

  2. Hi,

You can find software on the web which changes the file date, but it won't
necessarily change any internal records which AutoCAD creates.

The last updated record will change every time you change the drawing, so
changing it would seem a total waste of effort.

All in all, the concept of changing these two values, which are intended as
an accurate record of a file, seems to me to be based on some requirement
    for cheating.

Absolutely - one way to check employees. (And there are other ways).

To my knowledge, you can't change the TD* variables except maybe by altering a
derivative DXF file. To my thinking, you shouldn't.

    Well,
First of all I though I wrote to an AUTOCAD Forum not a judgement forum of
CAD date files, so I guess its my own concern what I do with MY own CAD
    files.
Now regarding my post there are other ways to change the creation date, just
insert as a block the drawing into a new one with the OS time change. My
concern was if someone knows of a lisp or VBA, or external program to do
this more rapidly. As you know you can change the creation dates of almost
any file for various reason, (not always cheating), using external or 3d
party programs, but for Autocad I didn't find any.
So if someone can help, I will appreciate it...

    Thanks

You've been given the two ways to do it. No matter how many times you ask, I
don't think you'll find any "better" answers.
