How get rid of custom paper size?

When using a standard plot script/lisp routine, and calling .plot command with all following variables (AKA plotting from the command line), if the last plot run of the drawing was with a "custom size" paper size, the routine crashes - the custom size prohibits the script from even changing the device. Try this yourself from the command line. Is there a workaround to this?
