How can I remove editing and printing restrictions from a PDF if I already know the password?

I have several PDF files that are password protected, but I already know the correct password. The problem is that I still can't edit, copy text, or print the documents freely. I'm looking for a safe way to remove these restrictions permanently without changing the original formatting or content.

When you know the password, removing the protection is always easier than unlocking the PDF file. These restrictions are used to stop editing, copying, or printing but when you know the right password, you will be able to eliminate all of them.

In case there are only a few files, then you need to open these PDFs in a PDF editor, enter the password, and make a new version of your files.

The downside is that many PDF editors don't let you permanently remove restrictions, and doing it one file at a time gets tiring if you have several documents.

I had the same issue with a batch of reports and ended up using Softaken Unlock PDF Files. I entered the known password and removed the restrictions, and the files kept their original layout and content. Thereafter, I could edit, copy, and print them normally.

One thing to remember: this method only works if you know the existing password. It won't unlock PDFs with an unknown password.
