Holy Grail of 2 and 3D Architectural/Design rendering

It seems the holy grail of 2 and 3D Architectural/Design rendering
software is emulating real world environments as accurately as
possible. Over the last few years Autodesk has purchased a lot of
companies and spent millions of dollars on a quest to be the
technology leader in this field. The one drawback I see is that
Autodesk nor any of the Companies they have purchased are capable of
real world color management. This is particularly true of paint
    manufacturers colors.

Real world color data comes from spectrophotometer scans of pigments/
dyes or color charts of real world products. Once this data has been
obtained, it can then be converted into RGB color space or other color
spaces. If the transmission and reflectance spectral data of CMYK
printing ink for example was not known color printing would not be
    possible.

AutoCAD, when used for architecture allows for creativity for example
but its output communicates hard core reliable measurement data that
you can actually use to build an item or object in the real world.
Having accurate real world colored product data communication
abilities would seem to be a very important part of this process.

I would love to have any comments on this topic.
