History of AutoCAD versions

Discussion in 'AutoCAD' started by Charles Sweeney, Jul 18, 2003.

  1. Anyone know the years of release for AutoCAD (and LT) going back over the
    years?

    I have a pretty good idea when 2004, 2002, 2000i, 2000, R14 and R13 were
released, but wondered if there was a definitive list somewhere. Better
still, a list showing significant changes with each release.

What about R15? Was there ever such a thing? I have came across some
    references to it.

    Thanks.

  2. A2K would have been r15 but AutoDesk knew about the odd numbered release
    curse,
and so cleverly changed strategies. Calling it r15 draws comparison with the
    earlier, slower/buggier odd numbered releases.

I have a copy of AutoCAD LT for Windows (3.1) still running on my Laptop
(release date was December 1993). It still works although I hardly use it
anymore because it's not quite so functional as AutoCAD 2002.
