Are there inherent problems with trying to hide surfaces in SW? I have
(several times) hidden a surface in a part that is used for a cut,
checked in the part into PDM, and then check the part back out and
    ALLAKHAZAM! there's the surface again.

    Any fix for this?

    Thanks!

Surface body visibility is both configurable and dependent on rollback
    state.

Is it possible that one of these two is causing your mystical experience?

Not sure if I follow...(not sure what "dependent on rollback state"
is)...when I hide the surface I am at the end of the FeatureManager.

The surface is (should be) hidden in both configurations of the part.

    Thanks!

if you rollback and hide the surface body and then roll down and show
it, the hidden state of the body is remembered for the rollback states.
did you hide it in both configurations?

There are some situations where what you are saying is normal. If you
could be more explicit about everything, someone might be able to help
you with A) if what you describe is expected or unexpected B) if it is
expected WHY it is expected C) ask you appropriate questions to get you
offer enough information for us to answer your question.

    - have you ever hidden or shown the body when rolled back?
    - was the body ever hidden or shown after the second config was created?
    - What happens if you delete the body at the end of the tree?
    - ...

Of course this could also be a PDM(Works?)(Workgroup??) problem with not
getting the latest rev (depending on which version?/sp??) or simply a
setting regarding which version of a part is pulled (with an assembly?).

It could also be a manual file management problem, where you have an old
version of the part that is not getting overwritten because it is open
    or some other issue.

If you'd like to fill in the blanks, maybe someone will step in and
offer more help. If not, call your reseller and update your video driver )

When I use surfaces in a part, I clean them up at the end using "Delete
Bodies". This takes them entirely out of the geometry. Also prevents
them from being exported or referenced inadvertently.

Since "Delete Bodies" is a feature, you can roll back and regain access
    to your surfaces as needed.
