Hi everyone I'm new to the software AutoSketch 8 & can use all the help I can get to start a project ASAP. If anyone has designed a corporate or home gym before i could use your help getting started. I'm unsure how to start should i choose (start drawing immediately or create precision drawing) & (set scale or page automatically or set scale manually) & what page do i go to put inches in measurements is there away to put objects into a page & change there dimensions to match that of like a treadmill or upper or lower body machine. any help walking me through would be helpful thank you.

    Yipes!

Geez, BodyStudio, you need Getting Started.

If you put your real email in the body of a response, maybe, just maybe, I'll send
you a file to get off the dime.

Otherwise, write to Paul Jackson at and ask him to send you
a book of his called "Hands On A House." $50USD more or less. It seems to be the
bible for this program. You can pray with it also, pray that he send you an Ozzie
    wine.

This book will tell you all the ins and outs of the program, more or less, and
    answer all those questions.

My friend, you're looking to learn to jump the bike before you learn to ride it (not unlike how i learned to dirtbike). In the event someone were to try to answer all your questions, it would be time wasted on their part and a confusing (and quite likely head-aching) fiasco on your end.
My best advice is this: read the owners manual cover to cover. Second time through, do all the things they show you, follow all the examples, etc. That should give you a bit of a feel for things.

If I felt I could productively address your questions, I'd be happy to. However, it doesn't seem as though you're ready for that yet.

Tips accepted in the form of mailboxes for the pup at the door. Thanks!

    Dan.

    Dan,

I suspect that a new user would be much better off with Paul's book. There is
always caterwauling from folks who try using the user's manual from ADSK,
therefore Paul wrote his book and I created a Getting Started file.

My opinion, for what it's worth: buy the book.

    Start with these questions:

How big is the space you need to draw?

    What is your printers largest page size (8.5" x 11", 36" x48"...)?

How many pages do you want to print out on?

If you have a 50' x 60' room and a 8.5 x 11 page and you want it all on
one page, you need something line a 1/8"=1' scale.

And you can always change it later with out loosing anything.

As to how you input stuff, check the help menu out and try things out.
AutoSketch is fairly easy to pick up by trial and error if you are
    accustomed to Windows programs.

Do you want to learn how to use Autosketch or do you want to draw your gym?

If all you want to do is draw your gym then I would say check out visio (And
a book would still be a good idea)
