Grips from Selection Set

I have a little routine I use often for selection. It's based on the DXF
    codes - 8 = layer name, etc.....
After I run it and the selection set has been made, I start a command and
use "P" (previous) to act on the entities.

Q: How can I get the routine to select the entities with the grips lit up?
    Just like QSelect does.....

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Thanks Juerg.
I had this posted on another board, and got this line of code:

    (sssetfirst nil (ssget "_p"))

I just tagged it onto the end of my routine, and WaLa! The grips are lit!
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi Jeff

It seems that I misunderstood you. I assumed that you wanted to select
    already 'gripped' objects.

    Cheers
