Flattening hollow copper tubing

Discussion in 'SolidWorks' started by G. De Angelis, Feb 9, 2007.

  1. Does anyone here have, or know of a presentation or tutorial for
making a model of a flattened end section of soft hollow tubing, like
    copper tubing, for example.
    Thanks in advance,

  2. One method would be to sketch the round profile, sketch the flattened
profile, and then loft between them.

This link takes you to Ben Eadie's blog. He has some marvelous videos
describing some tips he's developed. About 1/3 of the way down,
you'll find one dated Wednesday, August 30, 2006, and titled "A
    Crimped Tube In SolidWorks".

I've just checked, the MOV link still works. I recommend downloading
other tips from Ben, he's got some really good ones.

I wish he had the time to publlish more of them.

    Good Luck!
