I'm aware that there was a lisp written to combat the problem with
undefined shapes: shapetxt on http://www.dotsoft.com/freestuff.htm
I was discouraged, however, that it only works for empty fonts in
styles. I search deja and saw that this issue was still everywhere.
I couldn't find an all encompassing fix for it, and time wouldn't
allow me to go through all the newsgroups that had to do with it, so I
created one myself. I hope it woks for you. If it doesn't, please
let me know. If there's a better fix already out there, please let us
all know.

My advice is to get the missing font from the person who sent the file
that has this error. Use this only as an alternative. Make sure your
fontalt variable is set.
